ADR Northern Ireland data is mainly accessed via the NISRA (Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency) Secure Environment, a trusted research environment. Our data is securely available for accredited researchers to apply to access, for approved research projects.
The ADR UK Learning Hub contains more information about everything you need to do to safely access data:
Become an accredited researcher
You must be an accredited researcher to access ADR Northern Ireland data. You can do this by applying through the Office for National Statistics and undertaking Safe Researcher Training.
To access the Secure Environment, you must then obtain an AccessNI certificate.
For more information about the process, visit the NISRA website.
Apply to access data
Administrative datasets are accessed via direct application to the NISRA Research Support Unit. Health and Social Care (HSC) data is accessed via a different route, via application to the HSC Honest Broker Service. Distinct linkages can be made between HSC data and data from the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study (NILS) on application to the NISRA Research Support Unit.
